Remember the word which thou didst command thy servant Moses, saying, ‘If you are unfaithful, I will scatter you among the peoples;

Are not the days of my life few? Let me alone, that I may find a little comfort

Remember that thou hast made me of clay; and wilt thou turn me to dust again?

I loathe my life; I would not live for ever. Let me alone, for my days are a breath.

Surely man goes about as a shadow! Surely for naught are they in turmoil; man heaps up, and knows not who will gather!

Remember this, O Lord, how the enemy scoffs, and an impious people reviles thy name.

Arise, O God, plead thy cause; remember how the impious scoff at thee all the day!

He remembered that they were but flesh, a wind that passes and comes not again.

Remember, O Lord, what the measure of life is, for what vanity thou hast created all the sons of men!

Remember, O Lord, how thy servant is scorned; how I bear in my bosom the insults of the peoples,

O Lord, thou knowest; remember me and visit me, and take vengeance for me on my persecutors. In thy forbearance take me not away; know that for thy sake I bear reproach.

whereas you do not know about tomorrow. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes.
