But if they do not hearken, they perish by the sword, and die without knowledge.

He does not believe that he will return out of darkness, and he is destined for the sword.

he keeps back his soul from the Pit, his life from perishing by the sword.

“The godless in heart cherish anger; they do not cry for help when he binds them.

If their tent-cord is plucked up within them, do they not die, and that without wisdom?’

He dies for lack of discipline, and because of his great folly he is lost.

but if you refuse and rebel, you shall be devoured by the sword; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.”

Woe to the wicked! It shall be ill with him, for what his hands have done shall be done to him.

They do not jostle one another, each marches in his path; they burst through the weapons and are not halted.

But if you still do wickedly, you shall be swept away, both you and your king.”
