His flesh is so wasted away that it cannot be seen; and his bones which were not seen stick out.

Man wastes away like a rotten thing, like a garment that is moth-eaten.

Thou prevailest for ever against him, and he passes; thou changest his countenance, and sendest him away.

He feels only the pain of his own body, and he mourns only for himself.”

And he has shriveled me up, which is a witness against me; and my leanness has risen up against me, it testifies to my face.

My bones cleave to my skin and to my flesh, and I have escaped by the skin of my teeth.

My flesh is clothed with worms and dirt; my skin hardens, then breaks out afresh.

When thou dost chasten man with rebukes for sin, thou dost consume like a moth what is dear to him; surely every man is a mere breath! Selah

and at the end of your life you groan, when your flesh and body are consumed,
