“Behold, I waited for your words, I listened for your wise sayings, while you searched out what to say.

A rich man is wise in his own eyes, but a poor man who has understanding will find him out.

He who states his case first seems right, until the other comes and examines him.

Now Elihu had waited to speak to Job because they were older than he.

They waited for me as for the rain; and they opened their mouths as for the spring rain.

“Men listened to me, and waited, and kept silence for my counsel.

Lo, this we have searched out; it is true. Hear, and know it for your good.”

Therefore I say, ‘Listen to me; let me also declare my opinion.’

I gave you my attention, and, behold, there was none that confuted Job, or that answered his words, among you.
