Let him not trust in emptiness, deceiving himself; for emptiness will be his recompense.
With him are strength and wisdom; the deceived and the deceiver are his.

Thus says the Lord, Do not deceive yourselves, saying, “The Chaldeans will surely stay away from us,” for they will not stay away.

Those who pay regard to vain idols forsake their true loyalty.
