Stand therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.

Righteousness shall be the girdle of his waist, and faithfulness the girdle of his loins.

None is weary, none stumbles, none slumbers or sleeps, not a waistcloth is loose, not a sandal-thong broken;

‘As surely as I saw yesterday the blood of Naboth and the blood of his sons—says the Lord—I will requite you on this plot of ground.’ Now therefore take him up and cast him on the plot of ground, in accordance with the word of the Lord.”

So they laid it by till the morning, as Moses bade them; and it did not become foul, and there were no worms in it.

But if you refuse to let them go, behold, I will plague all your country with frogs;

or with princes who had gold, who filled their houses with silver.

He looses the bonds of kings, and binds a waistcloth on their loins.

who shows no partiality to princes, nor regards the rich more than the poor, for they are all the work of his hands?

who brings princes to naught, and makes the rulers of the earth as nothing.

Thus says the Lord to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have grasped, to subdue nations before him and ungird the loins of kings, to open doors before him that gates may not be closed:

I will cut off the ruler from its midst, and will slay all its princes with him,” says the Lord.

Because God has loosed my cord and humbled me, they have cast off restraint in my presence.
