in the eleventh year of Zedekiah, in the fourth month, on the ninth day of the month, a breach was made in the city.

And the prince who is among them shall lift his baggage upon his shoulder in the dark, and shall go forth; he shall dig through the wall and go out through it; he shall cover his face, that he may not see the land with his eyes.

In the twelfth year of our exile, in the tenth month, on the fifth day of the month, a man who had escaped from Jerusalem came to me and said, “The city has fallen.”

And you shall go out through the breaches, every one straight before her; and you shall be cast forth into Harmon,” says the Lord.

“Up, and let us attack by night, and destroy her palaces!”

You shall bring out your baggage by day in their sight, as baggage for exile; and you shall go forth yourself at evening in their sight, as men do who must go into exile.
