“Hark! a cry from Babylon! The noise of great destruction from the land of the Chaldeans!

The officers are summoned, they stumble as they go, they hasten to the wall, the mantelet is set up.

“On that day,” says the Lord, “a cry will be heard from the Fish Gate, a wail from the Second Quarter, a loud crash from the hills.

the men who did not die were stricken with tumors, and the cry of the city went up to heaven.
