Then Jeremiah took another scroll and gave it to Baruch the scribe, the son of Neriah, who wrote on it at the dictation of Jeremiah all the words of the scroll which Jehoiakim king of Judah had burned in the fire; and many similar words were added to them.

The Lord said to Moses, “Cut two tables of stone like the first; and I will write upon the tables the words that were on the first tables, which you broke.

Baruch answered them, “He dictated all these words to me, while I wrote them with ink on the scroll.”

As Jehudi read three or four columns, the king would cut them off with a penknife and throw them into the fire in the brazier, until the entire scroll was consumed in the fire that was in the brazier.

then I also will walk contrary to you, and I myself will smite you sevenfold for your sins.

then I will walk contrary to you in fury, and chastise you myself sevenfold for your sins.

I Tertius, the writer of this letter, greet you in the Lord.

I warn every one who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if any one adds to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book,
