How long, O Lord? Wilt thou forget me for ever? How long wilt thou hide thy face from me?

My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? Why art thou so far from helping me, from the words of my groaning?

I had said in my alarm, “I am driven far from thy sight.” But thou didst hear my supplications, when I cried to thee for help.

Why do you say, O Jacob, and speak, O Israel, “My way is hid from the Lord, and my right is disregarded by my God”?

Why dost thou forget us for ever, why dost thou so long forsake us?
