The earth staggers like a drunken man, it sways like a hut; its transgression lies heavy upon it, and it falls, and will not rise again.

The Lord has mingled within her a spirit of confusion; and they have made Egypt stagger in all her doings as a drunken man staggers in his vomit.

Your first father sinned, and your mediators transgressed against me.

My dwelling is plucked up and removed from me like a shepherd's tent; like a weaver I have rolled up my life; he cuts me off from the loom; from day to night thou dost bring me to an end;

But rebels and sinners shall be destroyed together, and those who forsake the Lord shall be consumed.

And the daughter of Zion is left like a booth in a vineyard, like a lodge in a cucumber field, like a besieged city.

and the plenty will be unknown in the land by reason of that famine which will follow, for it will be very grievous.

I looked on the mountains, and lo, they were quaking, and all the hills moved to and fro.

The land trembles and writhes in pain, for the Lord's purposes against Babylon stand, to make the land of Babylon a desolation, without inhabitant.
