Clap your hands, all peoples! Shout to God with loud songs of joy!

O sing to the Lord a new song, for he has done marvelous things! His right hand and his holy arm have gotten him victory.

When it goes well with the righteous, the city rejoices; and when the wicked perish there are shouts of gladness.

A stern vision is told to me; the plunderer plunders, and the destroyer destroys. Go up, O Elam, lay siege, O Media; all the sighing she has caused I bring to an end.

Sing for joy, O heavens, and exult, O earth; break forth, O mountains, into singing! For the Lord has comforted his people, and will have compassion on his afflicted.

Then the heavens and the earth, and all that is in them, shall sing for joy over Babylon; for the destroyers shall come against them out of the north, says the Lord.

Thus says the Lord God: For the rejoicing of the whole earth I will make you desolate.

And they answered the angel of the Lord who was standing among the myrtle trees, ‘We have patrolled the earth, and behold, all the earth remains at rest.’

Rejoice over her, O heaven, O saints and apostles and prophets, for God has given judgment for you against her!”
