And have you forgotten the exhortation which addresses you as sons?— “My son, do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord, nor lose courage when you are punished by him.

For I have become like a wineskin in the smoke, yet I have not forgotten thy statutes.

I will delight in thy statutes; I will not forget thy word.

“For has any one said to God, ‘I have borne chastisement; I will not offend any more;

Remember how he told you, while he was still in Galilee,

And they remembered his words,

Before I was afflicted I went astray; but now I keep thy word.

Why should a living man complain, a man, about the punishment of his sins?

And let us not grow weary in well-doing, for in due season we shall reap, if we do not lose heart.

I appeal to you, brethren, bear with my word of exhortation, for I have written to you briefly.
