When Jared had lived a hundred and sixty-two years he became the father of Enoch.

the son of Methuselah, the son of Enoch, the son of Jared, the son of Mahalale-el, the son of Ca-inan,

Enoch, Methuselah, Lamech;

Cain knew his wife, and she conceived and bore Enoch; and he built a city, and called the name of the city after the name of his son, Enoch.

And when he had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go on into Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to preach the gospel to them.

Thus all the days of Ma-halalel were eight hundred and ninety-five years; and he died.

Jared lived after the birth of Enoch eight hundred years, and had other sons and daughters.
