So he came near and kissed him; and he smelled the smell of his garments, and blessed him, and said, “See, the smell of my son is as the smell of a field which the Lord has blessed!

The fig tree puts forth its figs, and the vines are in blossom; they give forth fragrance. Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away.

And of Joseph he said, “Blessed by the Lord be his land, with the choicest gifts of heaven above, and of the deep that couches beneath,

By faith Isaac invoked future blessings on Jacob and Esau.

For land which has drunk the rain that often falls upon it, and brings forth vegetation useful to those for whose sake it is cultivated, receives a blessing from God.
