And Isaac dug again the wells of water which had been dug in the days of Abraham his father; for the Philistines had stopped them after the death of Abraham; and he gave them the names which his father had given them.

When Abraham complained to Abimelech about a well of water which Abimelech's servants had seized,

He said, “These seven ewe lambs you will take from my hand, that you may be a witness for me that I dug this well.”

Therefore that place was called Beer-sheba; because there both of them swore an oath.

So Isaac departed from there, and encamped in the valley of Gerar and dwelt there.

But when Isaac's servants dug in the valley and found there a well of springing water,

And he built towers in the wilderness, and hewed out many cisterns, for he had large herds, both in the Shephelah and in the plain, and he had farmers and vinedressers in the hills and in the fertile lands, for he loved the soil.

Those who choose another god multiply their sorrows; their libations of blood I will not pour out or take their names upon my lips.

For I will remove the names of the Baals from her mouth, and they shall be mentioned by name no more.

“And on that day, says the Lord of hosts, I will cut off the names of the idols from the land, so that they shall be remembered no more; and also I will remove from the land the prophets and the unclean spirit.

Nebo, and Baal-meon (their names to be changed), and Sibmah; and they gave other names to the cities which they built.
