(Now the Philistines had stopped and filled with earth all the wells which his father's servants had dug in the days of Abraham his father.)

When Abraham complained to Abimelech about a well of water which Abimelech's servants had seized,

He said, “These seven ewe lambs you will take from my hand, that you may be a witness for me that I dug this well.”
