Her priests have done violence to my law and have profaned my holy things; they have made no distinction between the holy and the common, neither have they taught the difference between the unclean and the clean, and they have disregarded my sabbaths, so that I am profaned among them.

And behold, there was a wall all around the outside of the temple area, and the length of the measuring reed in the man's hand was six long cubits, each being a cubit and a handbreadth in length; so he measured the thickness of the wall, one reed; and the height, one reed.

Then he turned to the west side and measured, five hundred cubits by the measuring reed.

This is the law of the temple: the whole territory round about upon the top of the mountain shall be most holy. Behold, this is the law of the temple.

They shall teach my people the difference between the holy and the common, and show them how to distinguish between the unclean and the clean.

Of this a square plot of five hundred by five hundred cubits shall be for the sanctuary, with fifty cubits for an open space around it.

“The remainder, five thousand cubits in breadth and twenty-five thousand in length, shall be for ordinary use for the city, for dwellings and for open country. In the midst of it shall be the city;

The whole portion which you shall set apart shall be twenty-five thousand cubits square, that is, the holy portion together with the property of the city.

You are to distinguish between the holy and the common, and between the unclean and the clean;

A day for the building of your walls! In that day the boundary shall be far extended.

For I will be to her a wall of fire round about, says the Lord, and I will be the glory within her.’ ”

And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been fixed, in order that those who would pass from here to you may not be able, and none may cross from there to us.’

Therefore come out from them, and be separate from them, says the Lord, and touch nothing unclean; then I will welcome you,
