Nevertheless my eye spared them, and I did not destroy them or make a full end of them in the wilderness.

thou in thy great mercies didst not forsake them in the wilderness; the pillar of cloud which led them in the way did not depart from them by day, nor the pillar of fire by night which lighted for them the way by which they should go.

For thus says the Lord, “The whole land shall be a desolation; yet I will not make a full end.

“But even in those days, says the Lord, I will not make a full end of you.

And it came to pass, while I was prophesying, that Pelatiah the son of Benaiah died. Then I fell down upon my face, and cried with a loud voice, and said, “Ah Lord God! wilt thou make a full end of the remnant of Israel?”

But I withheld my hand, and acted for the sake of my name, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations, in whose sight I had brought them out.

“And you, O son of man, thus says the Lord God to the land of Israel: An end! The end has come upon the four corners of the land.

Therefore I will deal in wrath; my eye will not spare, nor will I have pity; and though they cry in my ears with a loud voice, I will not hear them.”

As for me, my eye will not spare, nor will I have pity, but I will requite their deeds upon their heads.”

Lo, this day your eyes have seen how the Lord gave you today into my hand in the cave; and some bade me kill you, but I spared you. I said, ‘I will not put forth my hand against my lord; for he is the Lord's anointed.’
