Therefore, putting away falsehood, let every one speak the truth with his neighbor, for we are members one of another.

Let the time that is past suffice for doing what the Gentiles like to do, living in licentiousness, passions, drunkenness, revels, carousing, and lawless idolatry.

Now this I affirm and testify in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their minds;

suffering wrong for their wrongdoing. They count it pleasure to revel in the daytime. They are blots and blemishes, reveling in their dissipation, carousing with you.

You know that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your fathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold,

In him also you were circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of flesh in the circumcision of Christ;

A wicked man earns deceptive wages, but one who sows righteousness gets a sure reward.

If you return to the Almighty and humble yourself, if you remove unrighteousness far from your tents,

Among these we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, following the desires of body and mind, and so we were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind.
