The Preacher sought to find pleasing words, and uprightly he wrote words of truth.

The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable, but the mouth of the wicked, what is perverse.

To make an apt answer is a joy to a man, and a word in season, how good it is!

The thoughts of the wicked are an abomination to the Lord, the words of the pure are pleasing to him.

The words of the Preacher, the son of David, king in Jerusalem.

I the Preacher have been king over Israel in Jerusalem.

The saying is sure and worthy of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. And I am the foremost of sinners;
