And Absalom said to Hushai, “Is this your loyalty to your friend? Why did you not go with your friend?”

And Hushai said to Absalom, “No; for whom the Lord and this people and all the men of Israel have chosen, his I will be, and with him I will remain.

And when he came from Jerusalem to meet the king, the king said to him, “Why did you not go with me, Mephibosheth?”

A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.

There are friends who pretend to be friends, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.

Do you thus requite the Lord, you foolish and senseless people? Is not he your father, who created you, who made you and established you?
