You came only yesterday, and shall I today make you wander about with us, seeing I go I know not where? Go back, and take your brethren with you; and may the Lord show steadfast love and faithfulness to you.”

David sent messengers to the men of Jabesh-gilead, and said to them, “May you be blessed by the Lord, because you showed this loyalty to Saul your lord, and buried him!

Now may the Lord show steadfast love and faithfulness to you! And I will do good to you because you have done this thing.

All the paths of the Lord are steadfast love and faithfulness, for those who keep his covenant and his testimonies.

Thou hast kept count of my tossings; put thou my tears in thy bottle! Are they not in thy book?

For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

Then David and his men, who were about six hundred, arose and departed from Keilah, and they went wherever they could go. When Saul was told that David had escaped from Keilah, he gave up the expedition.
