When Uriah came to him, David asked how Joab was doing, and how the people fared, and how the war prospered.
He said to them, “Is it well with him?” They said, “It is well; and see, Rachel his daughter is coming with the sheep!”
So he said to him, “Go now, see if it is well with your brothers, and with the flock; and bring me word again.” So he sent him from the valley of Hebron, and he came to Shechem.
So David sent word to Joab, “Send me Uriah the Hittite.” And Joab sent Uriah to David.
Moses went out to meet his father-in-law, and did obeisance and kissed him; and they asked each other of their welfare, and went into the tent.
And David left the things in charge of the keeper of the baggage, and ran to the ranks, and went and greeted his brothers.
