But I will establish my covenant with Isaac, whom Sarah shall bear to you at this season next year.”

The Lord said, “I will surely return to you in the spring, and Sarah your wife shall have a son.” And Sarah was listening at the tent door behind him.

And she said to Elijah, “What have you against me, O man of God? You have come to me to bring my sin to remembrance, and to cause the death of my son!”

And the woman said to Elijah, “Now I know that you are a man of God, and that the word of the Lord in your mouth is truth.”

And he said, “Wherein have I sinned, that you would give your servant into the hand of Ahab, to kill me?

Now the men of the city said to Elisha, “Behold, the situation of this city is pleasant, as my lord sees; but the water is bad, and the land is unfruitful.”

He said, “Call her.” And when he had called her, she stood in the doorway.

But the woman conceived, and she bore a son about that time the following spring, as Elisha had said to her.

Then she said, “Did I ask my lord for a son? Did I not say, Do not deceive me?”

I said in my consternation, “Men are all a vain hope.”

But the angel said to him, “Do not be afraid, Zechariah, for your prayer is heard, and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you shall call his name John.
