‘And this shall be the sign for you: this year you shall eat what grows of itself, and in the second year what springs of the same; then in the third year sow, and reap, and plant vineyards, and eat their fruit.

And this will be a sign for you: you will find a babe wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.”

And this which shall befall your two sons, Hophni and Phinehas, shall be the sign to you: both of them shall die on the same day.
