And David said to him, “To whom do you belong? And where are you from?” He said, “I am a young man of Egypt, servant to an Amalekite; and my master left me behind because I fell sick three days ago.

And David said to the young man who told him, “Where do you come from?” And he answered, “I am the son of a sojourner, an Amalekite.”

David said to him, “Where do you come from?” And he said to him, “I have escaped from the camp of Israel.”

And he said to me, ‘Who are you?’ I answered him, ‘I am an Amalekite.’

A righteous man has regard for the life of his beast, but the mercy of the wicked is cruel.

Then they said to him, “Tell us on whose account this evil has come upon us. What is your occupation? And whence do you come? What is your country? And of what people are you?”

For judgment is without mercy to one who has shown no mercy; yet mercy triumphs over judgment.
