1 Samuel 14:45

Then the people said to Saul, “Shall Jonathan die, who has wrought this great victory in Israel? Far from it! As the Lord lives, there shall not one hair of his head fall to the ground; for he has wrought with God this day.” So the people ransomed Jonathan, that he did not die.

Therefore I urge you to take some food; it will give you strength, since not a hair is to perish from the head of any of you.”

But not a hair of your head will perish.

After greeting them, he related one by one the things that God had done among the Gentiles through his ministry.

And all the assembly kept silence; and they listened to Barnabas and Paul as they related what signs and wonders God had done through them among the Gentiles.

For we are God's fellow workers; you are God's field, God's building.

For I will not venture to speak of anything except what Christ has wrought through me to win obedience from the Gentiles, by word and deed,

And when they arrived, they gathered the church together and declared all that God had done with them, and how he had opened a door of faith to the Gentiles.

I myself have commanded my consecrated ones, have summoned my mighty men to execute my anger, my proudly exulting ones.

Therefore thou didst give them into the hand of their enemies, who made them suffer; and in the time of their suffering they cried to thee and thou didst hear them from heaven; and according to thy great mercies thou didst give them saviors who saved them from the hand of their enemies.

And behold, Amariah the chief priest is over you in all matters of the Lord; and Zebadiah the son of Ishmael, the governor of the house of Judah, in all the king's matters; and the Levites will serve you as officers. Deal courageously, and may the Lord be with the upright!”

for he took his life in his hand and he slew the Philistine, and the Lord wrought a great victory for all Israel. You saw it, and rejoiced; why then will you sin against innocent blood by killing David without cause?”

So the Lord delivered Israel that day; and the battle passed beyond Beth-aven.

Then Saul went up from pursuing the Philistines; and the Philistines went to their own place.

But Saul said, “Not a man shall be put to death this day, for today the Lord has wrought deliverance in Israel.”
