I rejoice at the coming of Stephanas and Fortunatus and Achaicus, because they have made up for your absence;
for he nearly died for the work of Christ, risking his life to complete your service to me.
And when I was with you and was in want, I did not burden any one, for my needs were supplied by the brethren who came from Macedonia. So I refrained and will refrain from burdening you in any way.
I would have been glad to keep him with me, in order that he might serve me on your behalf during my imprisonment for the gospel;
(I did baptize also the household of Stephanas. Beyond that, I do not know whether I baptized any one else.)
But God, who comforts the downcast, comforted us by the coming of Titus,
