Of Issachar men who had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do, two hundred chiefs, and all their kinsmen under their command.

Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.

Then the king said to the wise men who knew the times—for this was the king's procedure toward all who were versed in law and judgment,

and he will be the stability of your times, abundance of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge; the fear of the Lord is his treasure.

And in the morning, ‘It will be stormy today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs of the times.

Wisdom gives strength to the wise man more than ten rulers that are in a city.

The wisdom of a prudent man is to discern his way, but the folly of fools is deceiving.

Issachar is a strong ass, crouching between the sheepfolds;

Wisdom is better than weapons of war, but one sinner destroys much good.

Of the half-tribe of Manasseh eighteen thousand, who were expressly named to come and make David king.

His firstling bull has majesty, and his horns are the horns of a wild ox; with them he shall push the peoples, all of them, to the ends of the earth; such are the ten thousands of Ephraim, and such are the thousands of Manasseh.”

and along with them, by their generations, according to their fathers' houses, were units of the army for war, thirty-six thousand, for they had many wives and sons.
