You say, ‘I am clean, without transgression; I am pure, and there is no iniquity in me.


“As God lives, who has taken away my right, and the Almighty, who has made my soul bitter;


So these three men ceased to answer Job, because he was righteous in his own eyes.


I put on righteousness, and it clothed me; my justice was like a robe and a turban.


although there is no violence in my hands, and my prayer is pure.


For you say, ‘My doctrine is pure, and I am clean in God's eyes.’


although thou knowest that I am not guilty, and there is none to deliver out of thy hand?


For he crushes me with a tempest, and multiplies my wounds without cause;


Turn, I pray, let no wrong be done. Turn now, my vindication is at stake.


Behold, I have prepared my case; I know that I shall be vindicated.


Let us choose what is right; let us determine among ourselves what is good.


Why do you say, O Jacob, and speak, O Israel, “My way is hid from the Lord, and my right is disregarded by my God”?


Does God pervert justice? Or does the Almighty pervert the right?


Behold, I cry out, ‘Violence!’ but I am not answered; I call aloud, but there is no justice.
