So how much cleaner will the blood of Christ make us! He offered himself to God without any flaw through the power of the eternal Holy Spirit. His blood washes away our feelings of guilt for committing sin. Sin always leads to death. But now we can serve the living God.

God made us with his own hands through Christ Jesus for good works, and long ago he prepared them for us as a way of life.

But God chose you to be his own people, his royal priests, a holy nation, his special treasure. You’re all these things so that you can tell everyone how wonderful God is. He brought you out of darkness and into his marvelous light.

You were set free from the empty way of life that was handed down to you by your own people from long ago. You know that you were not bought with things that can pass away, like silver or gold.

This is a saying you can trust. I want you to emphasize these things so that those who trust in God will be careful to commit themselves to doing good. These things are excellent and good for everyone.

They sang a new song that said, “You are worthy to take the scroll and break open its seals, because you were put to death, and you bought people for God with your blood. They come from every tribe, language, race, and nation.

People who don’t believe might accuse you of doing wrong. But lead such good lives among them that they’ll see your good deeds and give glory to God on the day Jesus returns.

Jesus gave his life for our sins. He did this to set us free from the evil age we’re now living in.

They know me just as the Father knows me and I know the Father. And I give up my life for the sheep.

And let’s consider how we can stir one another up to love and good works.

Set an example for them in everything by doing what is good. When you teach, be honest and serious,

Command them to do what is good and to be rich in doing good things, to give freely, and to be willing to share.

and follow the path of love. That’s what Christ did. He loved us and gave himself up for us as a sweet-smelling offering and sacrifice to God.

Come near to God, and he’ll come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and make your hearts pure, you who can’t make up your minds.

Instead of fancy hairstyles, gold, pearls, or expensive clothes, they should put on good works. This is proper for women who claim to worship God.

The Son is the brilliance of God’s glory and the exact likeness of God’s being. He holds everything together by his powerful word. Once he had provided the way for people to be made pure from sin, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.

But if we walk in the light, just as he is in the light, then we share life with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son makes us pure from all sin.

But if we confess our sins, God is trustworthy and fair. He’ll forgive our sins and make us pure from every wrong thing we’ve done.
