Because a church leader takes care of God’s family, he must be blameless. He must not push people around, or get angry easily, or get drunk, or try to get money by cheating people.
Most of all, this is true of people who are corrupted by their wrong desires and hate to be under authority. People like that are cocky and arrogant. They’re not afraid even to insult heavenly beings.
Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care. Watch over them, not because you have to, but because you want to. That’s what God wants you to do. Don’t do it to try to get money in dishonest ways, but because you really want to serve.
Each of you has received a gift that you can use to serve others. You should use it as something that God has trusted you with. These gifts come in many forms.

In the same way, teach the older women to live in a way that shows respect for God. They must not tell lies about others, and they must not become heavy drinkers. Instead, they must teach what is good.
