If we’re going to think like that, we might as well say, “Let’s do evil things so that good things will happen!” Some people lie about us and claim that this is what we teach. They’re the ones who will be found guilty, and they’ll deserve it.

What should we say then? Should we keep on sinning so that God’s grace can increase?

What should we say then? Should we keep on sinning because we’re not ruled by the law but by God’s grace? Not at all!

What should we say then? That the law is sinful? Not at all! But I wouldn’t have known what sin was unless the law had told me. The law says, “Do not covet.” If the law hadn’t said that, I wouldn’t have known that wanting what belongs to other people was “coveting,” and that it was wrong.

When the law was introduced, sin got worse, because now people were doing things that they knew were wrong. But when sin got worse, God poured out an even greater abundance of grace.

Certain people have secretly slipped in among you. Long ago it was written that they would be found guilty. They’re ungodly people who misuse the grace of our God as an excuse for sexual sins. They deny Jesus Christ, our only Lord and King.

“Blessed are you when, because of me, people insult you and attack you and falsely accuse you of doing all kinds of bad things.

We serve God in times of glory and shame, whether the things people say about us are good or bad. We’re genuine, but people treat us as if we were fakes.

So it shouldn’t surprise us if Satan’s servants also pretend to be serving God. But in the end, they’ll get exactly what they deserve.
