Because you’re being so stubborn, and you’re not sorry in your heart for your sins, you’re making God more and more angry with you. The day of God’s anger is coming. Then he will pass judgment openly and fairly.

God is showing his anger from heaven against all the godless and wrong things that people do. People are so bad that they say no to the truth about God,

Some of the angels abandoned their positions of authority and didn’t stay where they belonged. The Lord is keeping those angels in darkness, bound with chains that last forever, until judgment day.

By that same word, the heavens and earth of today are being reserved for fire. They’re being kept ready for the day of judgment, when ungodly people will be destroyed.

As it has just been said, “Today, if you hear his voice, don’t be stubborn, the way you were when you rebelled against me.”

Since all of this is true, then the Lord knows how to save godly people and keep them safe in times of testing. But he also knows how to keep ungodly people under guard until the day they will be judged and punished.

So God chose another day, calling it “Today,” when he spoke through David a long time later, in the passage we’ve been considering: “Today, if you hear his voice, don’t be stubborn.”

Instead, encourage one another every day, while it’s still called “Today,” so that sin doesn’t deceive any of you and harden you.

What if God had chosen to show his anger and demonstrate his power, but he was still very patient with the people who were prepared to be destroyed?

The great day of their anger has come, and who can live through it?”

Your gold and silver have lost their brightness. Their dullness will be a witness against you and eat up your bodies like fire. You’ve kept all your money for yourself in these last days.

Brothers and sisters, here’s a mystery I want you to understand. It will keep you from being proud. Part of Israel has refused to obey God, and that will continue until the full number of Gentiles has entered God’s kingdom.

We must all stand before Christ to be judged, and then each of us will receive what we deserve for the things we did while we were in our bodies, whether they were good or bad.

Your endurance is a clear sign that God judges fairly. You’ll be considered worthy of the kingdom of God for which you’re suffering.

I’ve given her time to turn away from her sinful ways, but she refuses.
