Being circumcised is valuable if you obey the law. But if you break the law, it’s just as if you weren’t circumcised.

It doesn’t matter whether a person is circumcised or not. What matters is that the new creation has come.

“You stubborn people! You won’t obey! You won’t listen! You’re just like your people of long ago! You always oppose the Holy Spirit!

A person isn’t truly a Jew if they’re only one on the outside. Circumcision isn’t only something outward and physical.

You brag about the law, but when you break it, you rob God of his honor!

Hearing the law doesn’t make a person right with God. Obeying the law does.

And sometimes those who aren’t circumcised do what the law requires. Won’t God accept them as if they were circumcised?

Someone who isn’t circumcised physically, but who obeys the law, will show that you’re guilty if you break the law, even though you have it in writing and you are circumcised.

Being circumcised means nothing and being uncircumcised means nothing. Doing what God commands is what matters.

Even those who are circumcised don’t follow the law, but they want you to be circumcised so they can brag about getting you to do this.
