You know how to make foolish people wise. You see yourself as teaching little children. You think the law has given you all knowledge and truth.

They’ll pretend that they’re serving God, but they won’t believe that God has any power. Don’t have anything to do with people like that.

They claim that they know God, but their actions show that they don’t know him. They’re despicable, disobedient, and worthless at doing anything good.

Follow what you’ve heard from me as the pattern for true teaching, with faith and love in Christ Jesus.

Brothers and sisters, I couldn’t speak to you as people who were led by the Holy Spirit. I had to speak to you as people who were still following their own wrong desires. You’re not growing as Christ wants you to. You’re still like babies.

You used to be slaves of sin. But thank God that with your whole heart, you’ve now obeyed the teachings you were given!

Like newborn babies, you should crave the pure milk of God’s word. It will help you grow up as believers.

Anyone who lives on milk is still a baby. That person doesn’t know how to live a godly life.

At that time Jesus said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you’ve hidden these things from wise and educated people and shown them to little children.

You think you know much more than the people you teach. You think that you’re guiding blind people. You’re a light for those who are in the dark.

So then, are we setting the law aside through faith? Not at all! We’re upholding the law.

My brothers and sisters, most of you shouldn’t become teachers, because you know that those of us who do teach will be judged more strictly.
