Everyone became quiet as they listened to Barnabas and Paul tell about the signs and wonders God had done through them among the Gentiles.

Through him we received grace to become apostles to the Gentiles and through that grace to bring them to obedience to God by trusting in Jesus. We do this to bring glory to him.

Paul greeted them and reported everything God had done among the Gentiles through his work.

God was working through Peter as an apostle to the Jews, and God was working through me as an apostle to the Gentiles.

But now it has been made known to all the Gentiles through the writings of the prophets, as the eternal God has commanded. Through the revelation of this mystery, the Gentiles are starting to obey God by trusting in him.

But even Michael, the leader of the angels, didn’t dare to say anything insulting about the devil. They were arguing about who would get the body of Moses. Michael just said, “May the Lord stop you!”

Dear children, let’s not love just with words or talk. Let’s really love, by doing something.

Don’t fool yourselves by just listening to the word. You also have to do what it says.

By faith Abraham obeyed God and went to the place he would later receive as his own. He did that even though he didn’t know where he was going when God told him to start on his way there.

Once he had been made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him.

And whatever you say or do, let it be in the name of the Lord Jesus, as you give thanks to God the Father through him.

Even if I did decide to brag, that wouldn’t make me a fool, because I’d be telling the truth. But I don’t brag, so that no one will think more of me than they should based on what I say and do.

The God and Father of the Lord Jesus—may he be praised forever—knows that I’m not lying.

You used to be slaves of sin. But thank God that with your whole heart, you’ve now obeyed the teachings you were given!

I preached first to the people in Damascus, and then to those in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and then to the Gentiles. I told them to give up their sins and turn to God and to show they’d done this by the way they lived.

When Paul and Barnabas arrived in Jerusalem, the church and the apostles and elders welcomed them. Then they reported everything God had done through them.

When they arrived in Antioch, they gathered the church together and told everything that God had done through them. They shared how he had opened a way for the Gentiles to believe.

Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them, confirming his word by the signs that occurred with it.

As people who work together with God, we ask you not to receive God’s grace and then do nothing with it.

By ourselves, we aren’t able to claim anything for ourselves. The power to do what we do comes from God.

The slave who’d received five bags of gold went at once and put his money to work. He earned five more bags.
