If we live, we live to honor the Lord, and if we die, we die to honor the Lord. So whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.

I truly expect and hope that I won’t be ashamed in any way, but that I’ll be brave enough so that now as always, Christ will be honored in my body, whether I live or die.

Jesus died for us so that we might live with him, whether we are still alive on this earth or whether we have already died.

But this will happen in a particular order. Christ is the first of those who rise from the dead. When he comes back, those who belong to him will be raised.

He asked, “Why are you crying? Why are you breaking my heart? I’m ready to be put in prison. I’m even ready to die in Jerusalem for the Lord Jesus.”

Then I heard a voice from heaven say, “Write this: Blessed are the dead who die as believers in the Lord from now on.” “Yes,” says the Spirit, “they will rest from their labor, and they’ll be rewarded for what they’ve done.”

But even if my life is going to be poured out like a drink offering on the sacrifice and service of your faith, I’ll be glad and joyful with all of you.

But I’m not going to try to save my own life. My only goal is to finish the race and complete the work that the Lord Jesus has given me, to tell others the good news about God’s grace.

He almost died for the work of Christ. He risked his life by coming here to provide the help you couldn’t give me yourselves because you were so far away.

“David carried out God’s purpose in his own generation, but when he died, he was buried with his people and his body rotted away.

Jesus said this to show Peter how he would die and bring glory to God. Then Jesus said to him, “Follow me!”

He is not the God of the dead, but of the living, because in his eyes, everyone is alive.”
