The kingdom of God isn’t about eating or drinking. It’s about doing what’s right and having peace and joy through the Holy Spirit.

May the God who gives hope fill you with great joy and peace as you trust in him, and may you overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

So be concerned about the kingdom of God first, and do what he wants you to do, and all those things will also be given to you.

The kingdom of God isn’t a matter of talk but a matter of power.

Eating sacrificial food doesn’t prove how close to God we are. We aren’t any worse off if we don’t eat it, and we aren’t any better off if we do.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

If a person’s mind is ruled by their wrong desires, that brings death. But if a person’s mind is ruled by the Spirit, that brings life and peace.

We encouraged you, comforted you, and urged you to live in a way worthy of God, who has called you into his kingdom and glory.

I want to belong to him, and I want to be right with God based not on my obedience to the law but on my faith in Christ.

Don’t you know that people who do wrong won’t inherit God’s kingdom? Don’t be deceived. People who commit sexual sins, or who worship idols or commit adultery, or men who sleep with other men,

Jesus answered, “Truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they’re born again.”

The disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.

Then, in a way that’s too marvelous to understand, God’s peace will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

and you’ll be strong, in keeping with his glorious power. You’ll be patient and never give up.

Always rejoice in the Lord. I’ll say it again: Rejoice!

Jesus answered, “Truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they’re born of water and the Spirit.

He said, “Turn away from your sins! The kingdom of heaven is near.”

Even though you’ve never seen Jesus, you love him. Though you don’t see him now, you believe in him and you’re filled with a glorious joy that can’t be put into words.

We’re the ones who have truly been circumcised: We serve God by his Spirit, we boast in Christ Jesus, and we don’t put our trust in who we are or what we can do—although I myself could do that for many reasons.

If belonging to Christ helps you, if his love comforts you, if you share anything in common because of the Holy Spirit, if Christ has been gentle and loving toward you,

He never sinned, but God made him become sin for us, so that in him we could be made right with God.

Don’t be led astray by all kinds of strange teachings. It’s good for our hearts to be made strong by God’s grace, not by eating foods that the law requires. Those foods don’t do anything for the people who eat them.

And you imitated both us and the Lord Jesus, because even in the midst of terrible suffering, you welcomed our message with the joy that the Holy Spirit gives.

Because of what God has done, you belong to Christ Jesus. He has become God’s wisdom for us. He makes us right with God, he makes us holy, and he sets us free.

Then the church throughout Judea, Galilee, and Samaria enjoyed a time of peace and was strengthened. The church respected and obeyed the Lord and was encouraged by the Holy Spirit, and it grew even larger.

“I’ve told you these things so that you can have peace because of me. In this world you’re going to have trouble. But be encouraged! I’ve already defeated the world.”

One of the people at the table with him heard these things and he said to Jesus, “Blessed is the one who will eat at the feast in God’s kingdom.”
