Pay all your debts back on time. But you can never pay back all the love you owe one another. Whoever loves other people has done everything the law requires.

Love never does anything wrong to a neighbor. Instead, love does all the good things the law requires.

You can obey the entire law by following this one command: “Love your neighbor as you love yourself.”

In everything, do to others what you would want them to do to you. That sums up the Law and the Prophets.

Give everyone what you owe them. If you owe taxes, then pay them. If you owe other fees, then pay those. And don’t forget that you also owe your leaders respect and honor and that you should give them those things.

If you really keep the royal law that’s found in Scripture, “Love your neighbor as you love yourself,” you’ll be doing what’s right.

Over all these good things put on love, which holds them all together perfectly as if they were one.

“I’m giving you a new command: Love one another. You must love one another just as I have loved you.

I’m commanding you to do this for the sake of love, which comes from a pure heart, a clear conscience, and sincere faith.

Here’s how you can tell the difference between God’s children and the devil’s children. Anyone who doesn’t do what is right isn’t God’s child, and anyone who doesn’t love their brother or sister isn’t God’s child either.
