Revelation 8:3

Another angel came and stood at the altar. He had a shallow gold cup for burning incense. He was given a large amount of incense to offer on the golden altar in front of the throne. With the incense he offered the prayers of all of God’s people.

Then the four living creatures and the 24 elders fell down in front of the Lamb. Each one had a harp, and they were holding golden bowls full of incense. These bowls stand for the prayers of God’s people.

The smoke of the incense rose up from the angel’s hand, and the prayers of God’s people rose up together with it in front of God.

When the time came for him to do this, all the people who had gathered to worship were praying outside.

The sixth angel blew his trumpet, and I heard a voice coming from the four corners of the golden altar that stands in front of God.

It had the golden altar for incense and the wooden chest called the ark of the covenant. The ark was covered with gold. It held the gold jar of manna, Aaron’s walking stick that had budded, and the stone tablets that had the words of the covenant written on them.

That’s why he’s able to save completely and for all time people who come to God through him. Jesus never stops praying for them.

Then who can say we’re guilty? No one. Christ Jesus, who died for us—indeed, who was raised for us—is at the right hand of God praying for us.

Then I saw another angel coming up from the east. He brought the official seal of the living God. He called out in a loud voice to the four angels who’d been allowed to harm the land and the sea,

When the Lamb broke open the fifth seal, under the altar I saw the souls of people who had been killed because of God’s word and their faithful witness.

Then I saw another mighty angel coming down from heaven. He was wearing a cloud like a robe and there was a rainbow above his head. His face was like the sun, and his legs were like pillars of fire.

Then the angel took the gold cup, filled it with fire from the altar, and threw it down on the earth, and there was thunder, loud noises, flashes of lightning, and an earthquake.

Still another angel, who was in charge of the fire on the altar, came out and called out in a loud voice to the angel who had the sharp sickle. “Take your sharp sickle,” he said, “and gather the bunches of grapes from the earth’s vine, because they’re ripe.”
