Then there came flashes of lightning, loud noises, thunder, and a powerful earthquake. In the whole time that human beings have lived on earth, there has never been an earthquake as terrible and powerful as that one.

At that same time there was a powerful earthquake, and a tenth of the city collapsed. In the earthquake, 7,000 people were killed. Those who lived through it were terrified and gave glory to the God of heaven.

Then the angel took the gold cup, filled it with fire from the altar, and threw it down on the earth, and there was thunder, loud noises, flashes of lightning, and an earthquake.

Nation will fight against nation, and kingdom will fight against kingdom. People won’t have enough food, and there will be earthquakes in many places.

At noon, darkness covered the whole land. It lasted for three hours.

Just then there was a powerful earthquake. An angel of the Lord came down from heaven, went over to the tomb, rolled back the stone, and sat down on it.

When the Roman commander and those who were guarding Jesus saw the earthquake and everything that had happened, they were terrified and exclaimed, “He had to be the Son of God!”

From noon until three o’clock, the whole land was covered with darkness.

“Woe to you, Chorazin!” he said. “Woe to you, Bethsaida! If the miracles that I did in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have turned away from their sins long ago. They would have put on mourning clothes and sat down in ashes.

The fourth angel blew his trumpet, and a third of the sun was struck, a third of the moon was struck, and a third of the stars were struck, so that a third of each of them turned dark. Then a third of the day was without light, and so was a third of the night.

The fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, which was allowed to burn people with fire.
