“Blessed are those who wash their robes so that they can have the right to eat from the tree of life and go through the gates into the city.

Only what is pure will enter the city. No one will enter who does anything that’s shameful or deceitful; only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life will enter.

In fact, this is what it means to love God: to obey his commands. And his commands aren’t hard to obey,

“I’m coming soon! Blessed is the person who obeys the words of prophecy that are written in this book.”

All who hope to be like him make themselves pure the way Christ is pure.

“If you love me, obey my commands.

‘Whoever has ears should listen to what the Spirit is saying to the churches. If anyone wins the victory, I’ll let them to eat from the tree of life that’s in God’s paradise.’

Being circumcised means nothing and being uncircumcised means nothing. Doing what God commands is what matters.

So Jesus said again, “Truly I tell you, I am the gate for the sheep.

I am the gate; anyone who enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out and find good places to graze.

I answered, “Sir, you know.” He said, “They’re the ones who’ve come out of the time of terrible suffering. They’ve washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

If a person believes in Christ Jesus, it doesn’t matter whether they’re circumcised or not. The only thing that matters is faith expressing itself through love.

The city had a great, high wall with 12 gates and with 12 angels at the gates. The names of the 12 tribes of Israel were written on the gates.

Don’t we have the right to take a believing wife along with us when we travel? That’s what the other apostles do, and the Lord’s brothers and Peter do the same.

So be careful how you use your rights. Make sure you don’t cause someone who’s weaker than you to fall into sin.

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Are you greater than our father Jacob, who gave us this well? He drank from it himself, and so did his sons and his animals.”
