Then the angel carried me away in the Spirit to a desert. There I saw a woman sitting on a bright red beast that was covered with names that said insulting things about God. The beast had seven heads and ten horns.

Then another sign appeared in heaven: a huge red dragon with seven heads and ten horns. On its seven heads it was wearing seven crowns.

The woman you saw stands for the great city that rules over the kings of the earth.”

and the woman escaped into the desert, where God had prepared a place for her. There she would be taken care of for 1,260 days.

The woman was dressed in purple and bright red, and she was gleaming with gold, jewels, and pearls. In her hand she held a golden cup filled with things that God hates—her appalling, repulsive sins.

The woman was given the two wings of a great eagle so she could fly away to the place prepared for her in the desert. There she would be taken care of for three and a half years, and she’d be out of the serpent’s reach.

Then he carried me away in the Spirit to a great, high mountain. He showed me Jerusalem, the Holy City, coming down out of heaven from God.

He’ll oppose everything that’s called God or is worshiped, and he’ll give himself power over everything. He’ll set himself up in God’s temple and announce that he’s God himself.

I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s Day, and I heard a loud voice behind me that sounded like a trumpet.

At once I was in the Spirit, and there in front of me I saw a throne in heaven with someone sitting on it.

When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord suddenly took Philip away. The official did not see him again, but he went on his way filled with joy.

They took off his regular clothes and put a purple robe on him.

“Gold, silver, jewels, and pearls; fine linen, purple, silk, and bright red cloth; every kind of citron wood; all sorts of things made out of ivory, valuable wood, bronze, iron, and marble;

and cry out, “ ‘Woe! Woe to you, great city, dressed in fine linen, purple, and bright red, and gleaming with gold, jewels, and pearls!
