“The ten horns you saw are ten kings. They haven’t yet begun to rule, but for a short time they will receive authority to rule together with the beast.
The dragon stood on the seashore, and I saw a beast coming up out of the sea. It had ten horns and seven heads, and there were ten crowns on its horns. On each head there was a name that was disrespectful and insulting to God.
The beast and the ten horns you saw will hate the prostitute. They’ll destroy her and take away her expensive clothes; they’ll devour her flesh and burn her with fire.
They’ll throw dust on their heads and weep and mourn and cry out, “ ‘Woe! Woe to you, great city! All who had ships on the sea became rich because of her wealth! In just one hour she has been destroyed!’
They’ll be terrified by her suffering, and they’ll stand far away from her and cry out, “ ‘Woe! Woe to you, great city, you mighty city of Babylon! In just one hour you’ve been destroyed!’
