because the way he judges is true and fair. He has punished the great prostitute who made the earth impure with her terrible sins. God has paid her back for shedding the blood of his servants.”
“Everyone who’s supposed to be captured will be captured, and everyone who’s supposed to be killed by a sword will be killed by a sword.” So God’s people must be patient and faithful.

But wouldn’t people deserve even more punishment if they’ve trampled the Son of God under their feet, treated the blood of the covenant as unholy, and insulted the Spirit of grace?
But if a servant doesn’t know the master’s wishes and does things for which he should be punished, he will receive a lighter beating. If someone has been given a lot, a lot will be expected of him; more will be asked of the person who has been entrusted with many responsibilities.
