Huge hailstones weighing about 100 pounds each fell from the sky and crushed anyone they hit. People spoke curses against God because the plague of hail was so terrible.
Then God’s temple in heaven was opened, and inside the temple the wooden chest called the ark of his covenant could be seen. There were flashes of lightning, loud noises, thunder, an earthquake, and a severe hailstorm.
They were burned by the blazing heat, and they spoke curses against the name of God, who had power over these plagues. But they refused to turn away from their sins and admit that God was right.

The first angel blew his trumpet, and hail and fire mixed with blood were thrown down onto the earth. A third of the earth was burned up, a third of the trees were burned up, and all of the green grass was burned up.
