I looked, and there in front of me was the Lamb, standing on Mount Zion. He had 144,000 people with him, and they had his name and his Father’s name written on their foreheads.

If anyone wins the victory, I’ll make that person a pillar in the temple of my God. They’ll never leave it again. On them I’ll write the name of my God and the name of his city, the new Jerusalem, which is coming down from him out of heaven. I’ll also write my new name on them.

“I tell you, if anyone says in front of others that he knows me, the Son of Man will say in front of God’s angels that he knows that person.

As it is written, “Look! I’m laying a stone in Zion that will cause people to trip. It’s a rock that will make them fall. The one who believes in him will never be put to shame.”

I looked, and there in front of me was a white cloud. Someone who looked “like a son of man” was sitting on the cloud, and he was wearing a gold crown on his head. In his hand was a sharp, curved sickle for cutting crops.

After this I looked and saw that the temple in heaven was open. The temple is the holy tent where the tablets of the covenant law were kept.

I looked, and there in front of me was a pale horse! Its rider’s name was Death, and Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over a quarter of the world, to kill people with swords, hunger, sickness, and wild animals.

After this I looked, and I saw that the door to heaven was open. And I heard the voice that I’d heard before, the one that had sounded like a trumpet, saying, “Come up here, and I’ll show you what must happen after this.”

Then everyone sang a new song in front of the throne and the four living creatures and the elders. No one could learn the song except the 144,000 who’d been rescued from the earth.

They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads.
