I truly expect and hope that I won’t be ashamed in any way, but that I’ll be brave enough so that now as always, Christ will be honored in my body, whether I live or die.

But if you suffer because you’re a Christian, then don’t be ashamed. Instead, praise God that you’re known by the name of Christ.

you were bought with a price. So honor God together as one body.

May God himself, the God of peace, make you holy and complete. May your whole spirit, soul, and body be kept blameless from now until our Lord Jesus Christ comes.

And now, dear children, continue in him, so that when he appears, we can be confident and not ashamed to meet him when he comes.

Everything God created is looking forward to the time when his children will appear in their full and final glory.

So even if I brag too much about the authority the Lord has given me to build you up, not to tear you down, I’m not ashamed of that kind of bragging.

We always carry around the death of Jesus in our bodies. In that way, the life of Jesus can be shown in our bodies.

So he’s pulled in two directions. An unmarried or single woman is concerned about the things of the Lord. She wants to be devoted to the Lord in both body and spirit. But a married woman is concerned about the things of this world. She wants to know how she can please her husband.

and hope will never make us ashamed. That’s because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.

I’m joyful because of what I’m suffering for you. My suffering continues the sufferings of Christ for his body, which is the church.

Because God has shown you such mercy, brothers and sisters, I ask you to offer up your bodies to God while you are still alive. That will be a sacrifice that is holy and pleasing to God. It’s the right kind of worship to offer God.

Because I’m a prisoner, most of the brothers and sisters have become much bolder in the Lord, and they’re not afraid to preach the good news.

I had bragged about you to him, and you haven’t let me down. Everything we said to you was true, and in the same way, everything we told Titus about you has also turned out to be true.

Christ died for everyone so that those who live should no longer live for themselves, but for the one who died for them and was raised again.

I face death every day, just as surely as I take pride in what Christ Jesus our Lord has done for you through my work.

As it is written, “Look! I’m laying a stone in Zion that will cause people to trip. It’s a rock that will make them fall. The one who believes in him will never be put to shame.”

I’m using an example from everyday human life to help you understand. You used to offer yourselves as slaves to dirty habits, and you did more and more things that were wrong. Now offer yourselves as slaves to the right way of living. Then you will become holy.

Don’t offer any part of yourself to serve sin and do what’s wrong. Instead, offer yourselves to God as people who have been brought from death to life. Offer every part of yourself to God to do what’s right.

He asked, “Why are you crying? Why are you breaking my heart? I’m ready to be put in prison. I’m even ready to die in Jerusalem for the Lord Jesus.”

But I’m not going to try to save my own life. My only goal is to finish the race and complete the work that the Lord Jesus has given me, to tell others the good news about God’s grace.

Jesus said this to show Peter how he would die and bring glory to God. Then Jesus said to him, “Follow me!”

After they had prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke God’s word without any fear.

Since we have that kind of hope, we are very bold.

I’ve spoken to you very honestly. I’m very proud of you. I’m truly encouraged; even with all of our troubles, I’m overflowing with joy.
